Look, Friday night NBA slates can be tricky. You've got stars resting, role players popping off, and enough injury reports to make your head spin. But there's always value if you know where to look. Tonight, we’re eyeing a couple of spots where the numbers scream opportunity, especially for daily fantasy lineups.

First up, let’s talk about the Atlanta Hawks. They’re hosting the Denver Nuggets, and this game has all the makings of a shootout. Atlanta is giving up 121.3 points per game over their last three outings, and their defensive rating is hovering around 118 during that stretch. That’s not great, folks. Jamal Murray, even with Nikola Jokic doing his usual MVP-level thing, could have a monster night. Murray’s averaging 20.8 points and 6.7 assists since the All-Star break, and against a porous Hawks defense, those numbers could easily climb. Think 25 points, 8 assists. He’s been a bit up and down lately, but this is the kind of matchup where he thrives. Don’t overthink it.

And then there's Trae Young. He’s been a bit streaky, but when he’s on, he’s *on*. The Nuggets, for all their defensive prowess, sometimes struggle with quick, shifty guards. Young dropped 35 points and 10 assists against them back in January. His usage rate consistently sits above 30%, meaning the ball is in his hands, making decisions. If this game hits the projected over/under of 235, Young is going to be a major reason why. He’s a high-variance play, sure, but his ceiling is as high as anyone's on this slate.

Here's the thing: everyone’s going to be on Luka Doncic tonight against the Pistons. And for good reason – he’s a fantasy god. He put up 39 points, 10 boards, and 10 dimes against them in December. But sometimes you need to zig when others zag, especially in large DFS tournaments. The Pistons are actually playing a little tougher lately, holding opponents to 105 points in two of their last three games. I’m not saying fade Luka entirely, but don’t be afraid to look at some pivots.

One of those pivots could be De'Aaron Fox. The Kings are facing the Timberwolves, who are still without Karl-Anthony Towns. Anthony Edwards is a beast, but the Wolves’ defense takes a hit without KAT protecting the rim. Fox has been on a tear, averaging 27.5 points and 6.8 assists in his last four games. He carved up the Lakers for 33 points last week. With the pace the Kings play at, and the Wolves’ slight defensive dip, Fox could be in for a huge night. He's often overlooked for the bigger names, but his recent production is undeniable. He’s a strong play.

Another name I’m circling for a solid return is Kyle Kuzma. The Wizards are a mess, but Kuzma is putting up numbers. He’s averaged 23.4 points and 6.5 rebounds in his last six contests, and tonight they face the Hornets, who are defensively challenged, to put it mildly. Charlotte gives up the most points in the paint in the league. Kuzma gets plenty of shots and has a high floor for points and rebounds. He’s not going to win you a slate by himself, but he’s a reliable fill-in.

My bold prediction for the night? Dejounte Murray goes for a triple-double against the Nuggets. He's been flirting with it all season, and with the high pace and potentially leaky defense, tonight's the night.
